The veterinary reading list
The paw-pad paper is the oldest curiosity here. The walking and feline diabetes trials take the story into quite different animals and outcomes.
Dog studies
Start with Swaim and colleagues’ dog paw-pad wound study and Dobenecker and colleagues’ oral collagen study in dogs with osteoarthritis. I value the distance between their questions: tissue in an experimental wound on one side, movement in dogs with naturally occurring disease on the other.
The BPC-157 preclinical safety paper and rat-and-beagle pharmacokinetic paper describe laboratory work. The TB-500 paper in horses develops a doping-control method. None supplies a treatment result for a pet dog with arthritis.
Cat diabetes studies
The newly diagnosed cat trial and the remission-maintenance trial are the central pair. The placebo-controlled study in obese client-owned cats supplies additional adverse-effect context. I’d read the population and outcome before deciding how to connect the papers.
Animal-drug guidance
The animal-drug approval process, label-status guide, animal-drug questions, extra-label regulations and side-effect reporting guide explain the veterinary setting around the research. The FDA’s concerns about unapproved animal drugs include the missing reporting obligation that makes a quiet record hard to interpret.
Approval and search statements on this site are tied to checks dated September 30, 2026. These records are snapshots; later changes require a fresh check. The animal-drug database and minor-species Index are separate records.
